1972 - French Atmospheric Nuclear Testing Series

The objective of the 1972 series was to test the primary trigger for the TN-60 warhead. Only three nuclear tests were fired during this series, all had low yields. The last shot, Ariel (July 31, 1972), was a safety test conducted on the surface at Mururoa Atoll.
